I am Judit Galambos, Ambassador of Hungary to the Kingdom of Denmark. On 17 September 2026, I presented my credentials to His Majesty King Frederik X at Christiansborg Palace in Copenhagen, formally beginning my mission in Denmark.
Denmark holds a truly special place in my life. I lived here as a child, later studied Scandinavian Studies in Budapest, trained at Danish folk high schools, and was a guest student at the University of Copenhagen. I began my career at the Danish Cultural Institute in Hungary, and my very first diplomatic posting also took me to Copenhagen. Over the course of more than 25 years in the diplomatic service, I have represented Hungary in Albania, Kenya, and Finland — yet Denmark has always remained a defining part of both my personal and professional journey.
Hungary and Denmark are bound together by shared values: democracy, freedom, and the rule of law, together with the idea of a strong, sovereign nation-state that remains open to the world and to modernisation. Both countries take great pride in their own traditions and cultural heritage — Denmark in its more than thousand-year-old Kingdom, and Hungary in its more than thousand years of statehood.
My goal is to further deepen our bilateral relations, particularly in the fields of the knowledge economy, technology, and social policy. The Hungarian government's functional, humane, and Europe-centered agenda offers many areas where our two countries can draw inspiration from one another.
It is a tremendous honour for me to now serve my country as Hungary's Ambassador in a nation that has shaped me so profoundly. I look forward to further strengthening the long-standing friendship and alliance between our two nations, and to working closely with the Hungarian community living in Denmark.

We were able to take part in a magical Advent weekend at Messiaskirken in Gentofte: on Saturday, there was an ecumenical Advent service in Hungarian led by Reformed pastors Endre Iszlai and Mariann Iszlai-Kovács, and on Sunday, there was a Christmas concert with the Messiaskirken mixed choir and members of the Gentofte International Singers, conducted by Krisztina Vas-Norbæk.
On November 6, 2025, on the occasion of Hungarian Operetta Day, Károly Peller and Szilvi Szendi, a pair of operetta singers known and popular both in Hungary and abroad, gave a sold-out concert in Copenhagen in front of an international audience. The artists of the Budapest Operetta Theater performed well-known classics from the world of operetta to the great satisfaction of the audience.
On September 26, 2025, Consul Dr Mike Gyula presented four new compatriots with their naturalisation certificates during a solemn citizenship oath ceremony held at our Embassy.
We are delighted to share with our dear followers the wonderful news that the grand prize at this year's 30th anniversary Budapest International Book Festival, to be held in Hungary from October 2-5, 2025, will be awarded to renowned Danish author Jane Teller!
