In connection with Hungarian Operetta Day, on November 6, 2025, amid great interest, members of the diplomatic corps, prominent representatives of the local Hungarian community, business and cultural partners, and the WHO Regional Director for Europe attended an operetta gala concert in Copenhagen, held at the LiteraturHaus arts center in the city's vibrant cultural district.
The evening featured a well-rehearsed, nationally and internationally known and recognized, extremely popular performing duo with decades of experience in the world of operetta, who performed the most beautiful and well-known songs of the Hungarian operetta world. Károly Peller and Szilvi Szendi once again delivered a world-class performance with their cheerful concert, playing, among others, the evergreens "Hajmási Péter, Hajmási Pál," "Cintányéros cudar világ" (The Cruel World of Cintányér), and "Szép város Kolozsvár" (The Beautiful City of Kolozsvár), which were unanimously appreciated by the audience. The audience acknowledged the high-quality performance, which was organized and carried out by the Hungarian Embassy in Copenhagen, with a long round of applause. Operetta is a Hungarian genre that is traditional, lighthearted, and entertaining, so it is not surprising that the younger generation was also well represented among the audience. The event provided an excellent opportunity to showcase Hungary's cultural diversity to a large audience once again.
