Initiation of the procedure, duration, fees

The initiation of the above written case types is subject to registration on the https://konzinfostart.mfa.gov.hu/#!/login website, and then the section you wish to process must be filled out within the Online data sheets / Citizenship application case category. At the end of the process, the system creates a QR code, which we ask you to take a photo of and present at your personal appearance, for which you can also book an appointment in the Appointment booking section of the link above.

The Citizenship and Registry Department of the Government Office of the Capital City of Budapest has decision-making authority in the areas mentioned under the title of Hungarian citizenship, and our Consular Office only provides document transmission. For this reason, we cannot provide information on the status of ongoing cases, nor can we influence (speed up) their progress.

The examination of perfectly submitted applications takes an average of 8-12 months, but may take longer if missing documents are procured or translated.

After registration and filling out the data sheets, citizenship cases can be initiated online or on site only by payment of a consular fee of 40 Euros (299 DKK) by bank card. In addition, there may be translation and translation authentication costs.
