The 50th Odense International Film Festival (OFF25), which is eligible for Oscar nominations, was held between August 25 and 31, 2025. A total of 3,740 entries from 47 countries were submitted, of which 163 (including one Hungarian short film) were selected to be screened at the film festival and judged by the jury. Our country was represented at the film festival by the animated short film "The Last Drop," a joint production by filmmaker Anna Tőkés and producer Bálint Gelley, and our embassy was represented by Consul Dr. Gyula Mike.

Our Embassy was represented by Dr. Mike Gyula, Consul and Cultural Diplomat, at the opening ceremony of the Odense International Film Festival on August 25, 2025, as well as at the related all-day cultural opening events. He met with Dr. Tine Fischer, Director of the Danish Film Institute, and Søren Windell, Deputy Mayor for Culture of the City of Odense. As part of a full-day program organized by the city administration, participating diplomats visited, among other places, the Fyn Island Opera in Odense (where they were treated to a taste of productions by young local artists that have enjoyed great success on the international stage), the open-air museum (Den Fynske Landby) showcasing the history of rural Denmark and the rural Danish way of life, the Odense City Theater, and attended a presentation on the activities and successes in Denmark of the H. J. Hansen Group, a family business founded in the 1800s that is now involved in international wine trading and waste recycling.

Our Embassy also supported Anna Tőkés and her producer's trip and participation with financial resources. Although the Hungarian film was a great success, it was screened several times during the festival, and the creators took part in panel discussions, it did not ultimately win an award in the competition.
