György Cziffra Program series in 2021
Hungarian and international music life in 2021 pays tribute to the memory of the world-famous pianist György Cziffra with the Cziffra100 program series. On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth, the period from February 2021 to May 2022 was declared a György Cziffra Memorial Year by the government, and UNESCO added it to the list of annually celebrated anniversaries. The memorial year traditionally opens with the Cziffra Festival in February with its concerts in Budapest, after which the programs continue throughout the year in 13 rural cities, 15 countries with a total of more than 100 events.
