On April 2, 2025, at the invitation of Torben Bæk Sørensen, chairman of the Association, Ambassador Gabriella Jakab and Dr. Gyula Mike, Consul, on behalf of the Embassy, attended the Annual General Meeting of the Danish-Hungarian Friendship Association in Kjellerup, Jutland.
In her welcoming speech, the Ambassador expressed her appreciation and recognition of the fact that the Friendship Society, which was established more than 30 years ago and has been in operation ever since, and which still maintains a lively relationship with its sister community in Kecskemét, has greatly contributed to strengthening Danish-Hungarian cultural relations. Yesterday, we also visited the Blicheregnens Museum of Local History in Thorning, where Marianne Gjørtz Hougaard, the director, gave us a guided tour of the work of the Danish poet Steen Steensen Blicher and the background to a battle of great importance in Danish history (Battle of Grathe Hede, 1157).
