A Kávésztünet ('Coffeebreak') concert has taken place in Copenhagen!

On October 6, 2023, the Remembrance Day of the Martyrs' of Arad, in the framework of the Petőfi Memorial Year, a live music concert of the Hungarian band Kávészünet ('Coffeebreak'), a group well known for their modern musical arrangements of Hungarian classical poems, took place in the Kulturhus Risjberggaard conference center in Copenhagen, organized by our Embassy, with great interest and the participation of Hungarian, Danish and other nationalities.

The fusion of classical poetry with modern soundscapes proved to be extremely popular, with the audience rewarding the quality of the performance with a long round of applause. The ensemble was founded in 2005 by György Popovics and Ferenc Németh in a dormitory in Budapest. The hobby music-making was followed by performances, and after their first successes, they were introduced to the public in 2009 in the talent show "Born a Star". It was then that they decided on the name Kávészünet (Coffee Break), which suggests the literary charge of their work. Since then, they have been working with a management team, and most of the time they have been performing with an orchestra at venues in Hungary and abroad.
